If you have a child at Orchard School, you are automatically a member of the Parent's Association and we would like every parent to feel they can join us whether as an active member of the committee or as an occasional volunteer.
The role of the PA is to raise funds for the schoolchildren by volunteering time to various fundraising events - we regularly run discos, summer and Christmas fairs, raffles and one-off events such as Beetle Drives. We also apply for grants and for donations from local companies and charities to support our in-house fundraising.
The money we raise provides funding for many enhancements to school activities and lesson time from books to laptops to trim trails and pantomimes!
Since 1995 the Orchard PA has raised over £135,000 - £7,772 last year alone.
We are currently fundraising for additional laptops, ongoing clarinet lesson funding, kitchen equipment for the children’s new kitchen and Atlases.

What does the PA do?
We are a registered charity. We raise money that is used by the school to enhance the education of all our children. School budgets are tight, that's not going to change. We all want our children to have the best time at School and this is a way to do just that.
Any parent can help out, it's whether you choose to get involved that makes the difference!
There's a small group of parents who see to the day to day running of the PA (we meet monthly, every 3rd Tuesday, 7.30-9pm in the School Staffroom) and many others who help out at events, however and whenever they can. Being involved in our PA is not a major commitment. You can choose your level of involvement.
