Day to day pupil absences
If your child is absent from school, please report the absence to the office as soon as possible. Please let us know your child’s name, class and a brief explanation for their absence by telephone. Unexplained absences will be followed up by a text message.
We monitor childrens attendance and if your child's attendance level is not sufficient, the headteacher may request a meeting with you to allow us to find strategies to ensure they are in school.
Regular attendance at school is important to esnure your child gets the most from their education.
In line with current guidance, the headteacher is not able to authorise absence for the purposes iof a family holiday except in exceptional circumstances. If you are planning to take your child out of school, we request that you send a letter to the headteacher giving the dates of absence and a brief explanation for the absence. The headteacher will let you know if the absence can, or cannot, be authorised.
