Orchard School is full of Characters!
Children at Orchard School have enjoyed a day in character. As part of World Book Day and to celebrate the end of our month long Reading Expedition, children were invited to dress as a character from their favourite book!
Children have spent the month of February reading a variety of books for a whole school Reading Expedition. The expedition has guided children through a variety of genre's, encouraged a love of non-fiction and challenged children to read a funny story! They have completed a Reading Expedition record showing their reading journey and everyone who has taken part and completed the challenge will receive a certificate!
Families have commented positively on the Expedition which replaced usual homework throughout February. One parent commented
It's not only encouraged him to read more, but made us find the time to enjoy reading together.
